Delivery & Returns Policy

Overview

This Delivery and Returns Policy explains how delivery works, what must be prepared before delivery, and how returns and cancellations are handled by Container Market SA in South Africa. Placing an order means you accept the terms in this policy, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Delivery Areas

Delivery is available across South Africa, including remote areas, subject to route access and carrier availability. Delivery pricing and lead times vary by location, container size, and delivery method.

Delivery Methods

Delivery is arranged based on the unit type and site conditions. Options may include: Tilt tray delivery Side loader delivery Crane truck delivery The suitable method is confirmed during quoting to match access, offloading space, and ground conditions.

Lead Times

Estimated lead times are provided when an order is placed. Lead times can change due to stock movement, transport scheduling, weather, road conditions, or factors beyond our control. Delays will be communicated where possible.

Delivery Charges

Delivery costs are quoted per order and depend on distance, truck type, site access, and special requirements. Additional charges may apply if the delivery address changes, access is restricted, waiting time occurs, or a second trip is required.

Site Access and Customer Responsibilities

Customers must ensure the delivery site is ready and safe before the truck arrives. This includes: Clear access for the truck and turning space where required Adequate height clearance for overhead lines, trees, and structures Firm, level ground suitable for heavy vehicles and container placement A clear placement area free of vehicles, rubble, and obstructions Any permits, body corporate approvals, or site permissions required A responsible person on site to guide placement and confirm position Delivery may be postponed or aborted if the site is unsafe or inaccessible. Extra costs may apply.

Placement and Offloading

The driver will offload to the safest practical position based on access and ground conditions. Final placement is guided by the customer, provided it remains safe and achievable. Container Market SA is not responsible for ground damage where conditions are unsuitable for heavy vehicles, unless caused by proven negligence.

Collection and Customer Pickup

Collection may be available by arrangement from nominated depots or yards. Collection bookings must be confirmed in advance. Customers arranging their own transport must provide suitable equipment and comply with safety and load securing requirements.

Inspection on Delivery

Inspect the unit as soon as possible after delivery. Check the condition, doors, locking gear, flooring, and any agreed modifications. Report any concerns promptly with clear photos and a short description so support can assist quickly.

Returns Window: 15 Days

Return requests must be submitted within 15 days of delivery. This returns window applies only where a return is approved in writing by Container Market SA. Returns involve transport and handling, and not all items qualify. Any approved return remains subject to the conditions below.

Change of Mind Returns

If approved in writing within 15 days, the following may apply: Restocking or handling fees Transport costs for collection and return The unit must be in the same condition as delivered, with no additional damage, tampering, or unauthorised alterations The unit must be accessible for collection and safely loadable Custom modified units, special order items, and conversion products are generally not eligible for change of mind returns.

Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If the delivered unit does not match the order, or damage is believed to have occurred during transport, contact us as soon as possible within the 15 day period and provide photos and details. Where appropriate, we may arrange inspection, repair, replacement, or another remedy depending on the issue and availability.

Used Container Conditions

Used containers are sold according to their stated grade and expected signs of wear may be present, including dents, surface rust, patches, repairs, or cosmetic marks. These do not normally qualify as faults when the container remains fit for the described purpose, such as wind and watertight or cargo worthy, where specified.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be requested in writing. If accepted, charges may apply for administration, reserved stock, transport bookings, or work already completed. Custom builds and modified units may not be cancellable once work has started.

Refunds

Approved refunds are processed using the original payment method where practical. Processing time depends on banking timelines and transaction type. Delivery charges, collection costs, and handling fees may be non refundable depending on the return reason.
